While watching the new Discovery Channel series Dual Survival the other evening, a commercial for another new Discovery Channel survival show called Man Woman Wild came on that caught my attention. It featured a man and wife working together in a jungle survival situation. This new show caught my attention on several levels.

First off, I knew I recognized the husband in the commercial. After some Googling, figured out that I had watched him on another Discovery Channel show, I Shouldn’t Be Alive: Science of Survival. His name is Myke Hawke (Myke Hawke Pierce?). He is a former Special Forces veteran and survival instructor. Hawke has been featured on a number of survival shows and as a survival expert on shows like Simple Life with Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritchie and Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmerman. But don’t be fooled by Hawke’s appearances on such shows. Hawke is the real deal. He has also written a best-selling survival manual, Mykel Hawke's Green Beret Survival Manual.

Joining Myke on these survival adventures will be his wife and British TV journalist, Ruth England. Together the pair will take on some of the most forbidding locations around the world for several days at a time.
